The ILSF is designed to provide free or low-cost legal representation to immigrants facing removal proceedings — individuals who otherwise would have no legal counsel in a system where the stakes include detention, separation from family, or deportation.

Texas already hosts several of the nation’s largest immigrant detention facilities, from Dilley to Pearsall.

While the Dallas attack occurred hundreds of miles away, its consequences are now being felt right here in Houston, home to multiple ICE detention centers and processing facilities.
